Our school is participating in World Read Aloud day. Track 3 is tracked our for the “real” world read aloud day so we will be celebrating it on 2/19/19. In short, on World Read Aloud Day, people all around the globe read aloud together and share stories to advocate for literacy as a human right that belongs to all people. More info here: http://www.litworld.org/wrad/ As a school we have been focusing on “Quality Education” as a global goal. Check out this website to see all the global goals: https://www.globalgoals.org/ We donated supplies to a school in Belize and students have been learning what it means to have a quality education. For World Read Aloud day I would like to continue to focus on this topic and read stories from around the world on this day focusing on quality education.
With that being said, I would like to invite any of you into our classroom that day to read aloud one of the books I have chosen. Students will listen to the story and then color the country on a map from which the story took place. We will then have a short discussion about quality education from that country. Attached you will find a sign up genius of available times to come read. I will provide the books but if you find an appropriate read aloud on quality education that you would like to read instead then please let me know!
